SpayJax Television Promotion Campaign

Goals: In recognition of February being Spay Month, with Spay Day USA being February 18th it is our goal to increase the number of surgeries performed in the city by 1,000 for that month, and to keep a high average for the months of February, March, and April hoping to have an impact on the pets entering the shelters in the traditionally high intake months of May, June and July when it is common to see in increase in shelter intake of as much as 30%. It is our goal to not only increase the number of surgeries performed under our programs, but also the number of pet sterilization surgeries in the community overall.

Action Plan: A television commercial will be produced and aired using both paid spots and donated spots for PSA's. This commercial will highlight the pet overpopulation problem and the importance to spay or neuter your pet. It will also tell people that assistance is available for those that need it. We hope to air these spots 69 times each month as paid spots and as often as twice that many as donated PSA's. These will air on WTEV/CBS47 and WAWS/Fox 30.

Production: The spot produced will in be somewhat generic, although it will probably show a Veterinarian in a speaking role and possibly an exam room. The spot will also feature video of dogs and cats, probably in a shelter setting. The cost of producing one generic type commercial is covered; this one commercial will then be used with different tag lines at the end depending on who sponsored the commercial. The tag line will consist of the logo, name of clinic and phone number. Two clinics will be listed with each commercial. Clinics wishing to have a commercial produced specific to their location will have to cover the cost of production for that spot.

Cost:
  • 12 Commercials per month shared by two clinics will cost each clinic $500 per month.

  • 19 Commercials per month shared by two clinics will cost each clinic $750 per month

We ask that each clinic commit to three months, however the results will be evaluated on a continuing basis and, if needed clinics will be consulted about any possible changes.

Each clinic must pay first month in advance and each additional month will be collected by FCNMHP in advance of that month.
