| The Anderson Humane Society in Anderson, South Carolina has a targeted spay/neuter program, aimed at assisting those citizens most in need: the elderly, disabled, on social security, or having a very low income. Local participating veterinarians reduce their fees for the program. The client co-pay covers a portion of the cost, and the balance is covered by Humane Society membership dues and donations. Heidi Wolko, who runs the program, says, Please do not jeopardize this program and the relationship with the participating veterinarians by applying although you might not qualify financially. There are many Anderson County residents whose pets could not be spayed or neutered if it were not for this program and the wonderful veterinarians who participate. Please do not abuse this program but help keep it alive for those who really need it! If you are not sure you qualify or you have a special circumstance, please call us at (864) 225-9855 to see if we can help you. How The Program Works: This program is intended for needy residents of Anderson County only.
